Disconnectivity

8:24am - A little early morning blogging here in lieu of an Exchange server that is patiently waiting for someone to apply a little ctrl+alt+del therapy to it. It's amazing how isolated one becomes without email. "But Tony, pounding the phone is a much more effective selling tool than email, so the loss of email connectivity should really have minimal impact." You are correct. The problem is, all of my contact information is stored in Outlook. If the Exchange server is down, it won't let me open Outlook, not even to work offline. So, here we sit, dead in the water.

I have a feeling this weekend is going to fly right by. Tomorrow morning I need to make some award-winning gumbo for the cookoff, transfer the amber ale to secondary fermentation, go win the gumbo cookoff, and then choose from an array of events taking place on Saturday evening.

11:39am - Still dead in the water. This is retarded.

I've been re-enjoying Strike Anywhere's Change Is A Sound for the past few days. I find it to be an excellent record. Well-written, well-executed, and well-produced. Nice work, gentlemen. They've since released Exit English (a while ago, actually) which I have yet to really listen to. I should probably snag a copy and familiarize myself with it before their show at Swayze's this Monday.

12:46pm - I took an early lunch and the email was fixed when I got back, so I've been whipping the llama's ass since then. Oh, sweet sweet connectivity.

Apparently there's a football game on Sunday.

You're going to lose like a losing loser on Saturday. I garontee! On to more important things . . . you're going to Swayze's? Never been, but I hear wonderful things like the framed picture of PAtrick Swayze in a glass case. The band I'm supposed to see there keeps cancelling because relatives always die when they get to the Swayze's show. Last year it was guitarists grandfather. This year it was the bassists grandfather. If I was anyone else's grandfather in that band, I'd tell them never to play Swayze's.

The internet is the devil. I almost wish Comcast would fuck up for the next 24 hours.. at least then I'd get something done.

You should probably export your contacts from Outlook to something like a CSV file and keep it around for when your Exchange server goes down--which I imagine happens regularly. It could also serve as a backup should your server actually trash all your data.
