On Trivia

J-Bro has already posted a recap of last night\’s trivia, but I\’ll add a couple things. I have no idea where the idea came from to call the team Stabbity Stabity Face Face Face (twasn\’t me), but the awkward silence that fell over the bar every time the emcee read it was indeed delicious. We performed rather poorly, but somehow ended up tied for first going into the final question. As part of our final victory strategy, we grossly violated rule #2 and wagered no points on the final question. We were one of two teams to get the final question right, but because we wagered nothing, we were now tied for second. I think the new violation of rule #2 should be to wager one point for good measure. At least, that way, we would have been locked in second place. Whatever, Thursday morning quarterback.

Counting the first time we did blogger trivia, which I forgot to account for in the stats from last time, where it was just me, Jen, Mae, and Rusty, we have never not won at least some money (yes, I just jinxed the shit out of us). Here\’s the stats:

Team name: Stabbity Stabbity Face Face Face
Final place: 3rd
Winnings: $10
YTD: $95

I also feel compelled to relay the best team name from last night. On the drive there, I was pondering a good Terri Schiavo-related name. The best thing I could come up with was Terri\’s Successful Federal Appeal. I\’m glad I didn\’t suggest it because it would have been TROUNCED by the winners of best team name: The Terri Schiavo Diet … It\’s A No-Brainer! Fuck, that was funny.

Another thing I realized last night is that I\’ve been horribly slack at keeping my blogroll up-to-date with regards to the people I interact with both over the internets and in real life. Sorry \’bout that.

  1. Hey Mariah, both the trivia dude and the other guy we were tied for second with asked what the hell our team name meant.. so that should count for something.

  2. J-Bro…that will never get old. Seriously.

  3. Betting nothing is a good percentage play a lot of the time. It didn’t work out last night, but I’d do it again given the same circumstances.
